Something About Me

Rebecca Chaney

One of the greatest honors and joys of my life is being a wife of 14 years and mother of two phenomenal children, ages 11 and 9. We homeschool classically, and we are in our seventh year of homeschool adventures.  I am a former educator in the public school system having taught both general education and special education. I worked for several years as a behavioral therapist for families in the Jackson, Mississippi area in both clinic and private settings.

Currently, I am the Restore Liberty Mississippi Director, a board member for the Mississippi Freedom Caucus, and I have hosted Biblical Citizenship classes since 2020. We have had the privilege of starting these classes and seeing them grow all over the state.  One core pillar of Restore Liberty is educating the public on Founding intent. This is crucial to restoring our country back to original intent. It is the only way we will save the nation. Teaching and hosting Constitutional classes are quite rewarding, encouraging, and serves to keep the flame of liberty burning brightly. Every generation has a duty to teach the rising generations about Biblical and Constitutional founding. There is indeed a sacred reason why America still has her original Constitution. We are seeing it vanish before our eyes, sadly. We are a Constitutional Republic, and we must know our rights to be able to defend and assert them. The Constitution does not breathe for itself; we the people do that job.

My Vision for Mississippi

What I Believe

One of the only truly conservative groups in Mississippi is the Mississippi Freedom Caucus. It is founded by elected officials who believe in freedom and liberty for the people of Mississippi. The MFC is a voice for citizens who want bold action to protect life, strengthen families, defend our constitutional rights, limit government, and revitalize personal and economic freedoms in the state of Mississippi. Despite being an overwhelmingly Republican majority in the MS Legislature, the Freedom Caucus is made up of only a very few brave and morally courageous individuals who are willing to serve as the Founders intended. It is appalling that other Republicans do not join them. Alarmingly, the voice of Mississippians is largely ignored and ill-represented. The Mississippi Freedom Caucus is working, too, to vet and endorse truly Constitutional candidates. We are in hopes of seeing Constitutional candidates win their elections coming up in 2023.

Restore Liberty Mississippi is working to vet the judiciary, the school boards, the legislature, and county sheriffs. We have been contacting Sheriffs from across the state and vetting those running for office. We educate on the Constitutional and sacred role of the Sheriff and work to educate the citizenry on their responsibilities.

We have vetted and endorsed several amazing Candidates from around the state based on Biblical and Constitutional precepts and principles, and we are encouraged as more men and women are stepping up to run for office in a variety of races. We have also unendorsed candidates for turning their back on the Constitution and the constituency that elected them to be their representation. Our standards are high for Constitutional Conservatism, and we do not take the responsibility and accountability lightly.

If you are in Mississippi and are interested in being a part of our team to help with these endeavors, please email [email protected] for more information on how to get involved.

State Successes

A friend of Restore Liberty, Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights (MPVR), saw a MONUMENTAL win when ICAN’s attorneys, headed by Aaron Siri, Esq., secured a historical and critical victory in a federal court. A judge upholding the Constitution of the United States ruled that the First Amendment affords residents a religious exemption for their children, and that they can attend school without one or more of the required vaccines on the schedule. For 44 years, the state has been violating the Constitutional rights of citizens.  The preliminary injunction rules that by July 15, 2023, the state must provide its residents a religious exemption option for their children regarding school attendance. This will lay the groundwork for other states to challenge their unconstitutional grievances in the same way.
