Kristi is proud to be endorsed by Texas Alliance for Life PAC. Texas Alliance for Life is a statewide non-profit organization of people committed to protecting the fundamental right to life of all innocent human beings and to promoting respect for their value and dignity from the moment of conception until natural death using peaceful, legal means.

I have dedicated my legal career to public service, not profit. I believe in justice, fairness, and the truth. I promise that if I earn your vote as your County Court at Law Judge, I will faithfully follow the law and not legislate from the bench. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights will be the foundation of my decisions and I will be fair and respectful to all who come to my Court and dedicate every day to keeping your trust.” – Kristi DeCluitt

Kristi and her husband, Chris, serve their neighbors. Since moving back to Chris’s home town of Waco in 1999, they have been heavily involved in Waco non-profit philanthropic and education organizations.  Kristi currently serves on the board of the Bosqueville Excellence in Education Foundation.  She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Waco, a Waco Rotary Club member, and member of the Providence Founder’s Society.  In the past, she has served on the boards of the Waco Rotary Club, Waco Christian Youth Theater, Waco Humane Society, Waco Civic Theatre, REACH Therapeutic Riding Center and the Waco Genealogical Society.

Kristi believes in public service.  She has served the people of McLennan County for the last 21+ years. She was your Justice of the Peace in the largest precinct in the county for over 8 years.  Known as the “go to” judge for law enforcement, she was available 24/7 to issue arrest and search warrants. In her court, she presided over hundreds of criminal and civil cases, conducted hundreds of death inquests, set hundreds of bonds and magistrated hundreds of criminal defendants.  As JP, she was honored to have the support of the voters by winning every primary and general election by comfortable margins. Before her time on the bench as JP, she was a McLennan County Assistant Criminal District Attorney for 6 years where she prosecuted misdemeanors and felonies, including crimes against children. She was a defense attorney, practicing in both of our felony courts in McLennan County and in federal court, an Assistant City Attorney in Waco and College Station and  currently serves you again as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney as a Felony Prosecutor.
